4 Emirau Place, Glenfield – 375mm Stormwater Pipe Relay
C&B Drainage Contracting Ltd is currently carrying out stormwater pipe relay works at 4 Emirau Place, Glenfield.
The project involves replacing the existing stormwater pipe with 375mm Class 4 RCR/RJRRJ concrete pipe, installed through a deep trench.
The works include deep trench excavation, temporary trench support and concrete pipe installation. Our excavator and ground crew are working closely throughout the excavation and installation process to manage the site conditions and maintain a controlled construction sequence.
The stormwater pipe relay is progressing on site as part of the drainage infrastructure works.

32 Lavery Place, Sunnynook – 4-Unit Residential Development
Completed 2026 | Public & Private Drainage Infrastructure
We recently completed the drainage works for a 4-unit residential development at 32 Lavery Place, Sunnynook.
Our scope included public stormwater, wastewater and watermain connections, together with the private drainage systems serving the four new homes.
For the stormwater connection, we connected from an existing manhole outside the property boundary, installing 225mm UPVC SN16 stormwater pipe to a new manhole within the development. From there, 150mm stormwater pipework was installed to service the four units.
The project also included the public wastewater and watermain connections, as well as the private stormwater and wastewater drainage within the development.
The drainage works were completed and progressed through the required inspection and connection processes.
The four homes are now completed and on the market for sale.

New Windsor Rd – Working Around Existing Infrastructure
A Challenging Public Drainage Project in Auckland
This project on New Windsor Rd was one of those jobs where what was above the pipe was just as important as what was below it.
We were working on a busy road and needed to replace approximately 25 metres of existing drainage pipe with 300mm RCRRJ Class 4 concrete pipe.
The main challenge was the existing services running through the work area. An approximately 50mm power cable ran along the full length of the work area, directly above the existing drainage pipe we needed to replace.
Because we were working close to Vector’s electrical infrastructure, Vector standby was required during the works in accordance with their safety procedures. Vector standby personnel were on site for several days while we carried out the excavation and pipe replacement.
This meant we had to take extra care with the excavation and carefully manage each stage of the work around the existing services.
At the same time, we were working in a busy road environment, with traffic management and site access needing to be carefully coordinated.
The project included public stormwater and wastewater works, as well as private drainage.
It was a challenging site, but this is the kind of work where careful planning, communication and experience make a real difference. We worked through the existing constraints step by step and completed the drainage works safely and properly.
A Challenging Public Wastewater Project in Auckland’s Volcanic Rock Zone
We completed the public stormwater and wastewater infrastructure works for a 10-lot residential development on Arabi St, Sandringham, in 2025.
This project was located within the Mt Eden volcanic rock zone, which made excavation particularly challenging. Much of the public wastewater network, including the locations of new manholes, required extensive rock breaking before excavation and pipe installation could proceed.
We installed approximately 100 metres of public wastewater pipeline within the development site. Outside the boundary, we also relayed the existing public sewer.
One of the major challenges was the number of existing underground services crossing and running alongside the existing sewer alignment. We also had to carefully maintain and reconnect several neighbouring properties to the wastewater network while carrying out the new works.
Working around rock, existing services and live wastewater infrastructure required careful planning, controlled excavation and close coordination throughout the project.
Another difficult site completed by our team.

As part of the Watercare requirements for public wastewater infrastructure, we carry out pressure testing of newly installed sewer pipes as part of the final inspection process.
The test helps verify the integrity of the installed sewer pipeline before the project proceeds to final approval and completion.
At C&B Drainage, we follow the required testing and inspection process to ensure our public wastewater infrastructure works are completed to the required standard.
Diana Dr, Glenfield | 20-Lot Residential Development
In 2024, we worked on a 20-lot residential development on Diana Drive in Glenfield, Auckland.
The development included 10 terrace houses at the rear of the site and 10 apartments at the front. Our job was to put in the public stormwater, wastewater and watermain infrastructure needed to support the new development.
For the stormwater system, we installed 225mm concrete pipe, with 100mm saddle connections for the property connections.
For wastewater, we installed 150mm uPVC SN16 pipe, using 150/100mm Y-junction connections.
Working around different parts of the development meant coordinating the drainage works with the construction of the new homes. We worked through the site progressively, installing the pipework and connections as the development moved forward.
It was a good example of the type of subdivision drainage work we do — getting the underground infrastructure in place properly so everything above ground can continue.
The project was completed in 2024 in accordance with the relevant Auckland Council and Watercare requirements.
West Harbour | 5-Lot Residential Subdivision Drainage Works
Public Stormwater & Wastewater Infrastructure | Deep Excavation & Trench Shoring
C&B Drainage Contracting Ltd completed public stormwater and wastewater infrastructure works for a five-lot residential subdivision in West Harbour, Auckland.
The project involved extensive deep excavation, with stormwater and wastewater trenches and manholes generally reaching approximately 4–5 metres in depth. Due to the excavation depth, trench shoring was required throughout the project to maintain excavation stability and provide a safe working environment.
The works included the installation of deep stormwater and wastewater manholes, underground pipework and associated connections. Working within deep excavations required careful planning, staged construction and strict site safety controls.
The project was completed safely and in accordance with relevant Auckland Council and Watercare requirements.

Greenhithe Farm Subdivision | Drainage & Civil Infrastructure
A new residential development starts long before the first house is built.
At Greenhithe, C&B Drainage Contracting delivered the essential drainage infrastructure required to support a major residential subdivision — working within an established neighbourhood with existing roads, footpaths, services and limited access.
The project required more than simply digging a trench.
Directional drilling was used through constrained areas to install underground pipework while minimising disruption to the surrounding environment and public access.
Deep excavation and manhole construction created the key connection points for the new drainage network, requiring careful excavation and installation at depth.
PE pipe installation then connected the network together, creating the underground infrastructure needed for the development above.
From the first bore to the final connection, every stage had to be carefully coordinated around existing infrastructure, traffic and site conditions.
Much of this work will eventually disappear beneath roads, footpaths and future homes.
But that is the point.
The infrastructure may be invisible — but it is what makes the development possible.
